I’ve been listening to the new Daughtry album a lot over the past month and I’ve been enjoying a lot of the tracks on it. One that’s stood out is called Battleships.

It’s a very simple song to play – it’s based around a two chord progression.

In this video I show you how to play Battleships by Daughtry on guitar.

It’s in the key of C# and I’m using a capo on the 7th fret. I’m fretting a G chord above the capo (with the root note being the C# – the 9th fret). I’m then moving my 1st and 2nd finger across a string to form the F# shape.

So basically it’s the 1st to the 4th. There’s also an extra bass note in there that I mention as well.

Hope you enjoy watching the video and learn how to play the song. Leave a comment below to let me know what you think, and also let me know if there are other songs you’d like me to teach.
