I’ve been reading Ed Sheeran’s book ‘A Visual Journey‘.  It’s a great book and well worth a read to learn more about the person behind the music.

The story goes that he flew to LA and a friend had set up this gig at a poetry night called FlyPoet. It was his first gig in America and no-one knew what to expect.

Ed reckons it was his best gig and mentions in the book that there’s this video of the performance on YouTube.

This video has a low view count of just over 26,000 so it mustn’t be very well known. However it’s a great insight into how he uses his loop pedal to build up songs. Watch him in the earlier parts as he stops the loop at times to emphasis the last line of a verse or chorus.
